Will we get back together or did i mess things up for good?

so, i dated my ex for almost 3 wonderful yrs. a few months ago we startd fightin more and more, he lost his job n his truck bc of money problems and i went to college, it was stressful, but we loved eachother and pulled through. he ended up dumping me and talking to some girl. he went to his best friends wedding and when he got back he started talking to me again. he had said some horrible horrible things to me when he broke my heart, im not going to get into that. but anyways while we were broken up i hooked up with one of his good friends while i was drunk. me and my ex started talking again the very next day and i was thrilled! i love him with all my heart! he apologized n said that after seeing his friends wedding all he could think about was me and how he cant live without me and cant see himself with anyone else ever. we spent the most amazing weekend together and he swore he felt the most love for me anyone could ever feel, we were perfect. then monday he found out about his best friend. it was the biggest mistake of my life. he is so upset and cant believe i did this. i had no idea at the time that we would ever get back together and we were broken up, i never cheated on him. were talking again and im a mess trying to get him back. i love him with all my heart and have no idea y i did what i did and i regret it with all my heart. do you think well make it or any advice is appreciated. please dont be rude, if its not gunna be helpful then please, im in no place right now to be yelled at or put down, hes doing enough of that. thanks.
