Is It ok to eat crickets?

mmk... Well I have a cl project due soon about foreign foods that we (people in the US) may find odd. It is a food presentation, so I decided to make chocolate covered crickets. Now, I know that crickets gathered straight from your yard or the park have pesticides and other stuff in them, so I can't use them. My question is: If I buy crickets from a pet shop (like petsmart), would it be ok for people to eat them? I don't want to get people sick! Thanks to all who answer! =D
