Flea problem in my bedroom and I'm getting eaten alive :-(?

I live with my boyfriend in his mom's house with her also. I'm SO STUCK. I don't know what to do, hopefully someone can help me. We've been together for 6 years & we love each other very much. I currently realized that this house is infested with fleas & the mom REFUSES to bomb. She will hire an exterminator but not now b/c it's getting cold and she thinks they die in the winter, which they don't. I believe the woman has been living under a rock for all her life but that's not the point here. I have my cat her, took care of her, had her groomed, put advantage on her, and the other cats were bathed, and the treatment on them also. I plan to upkeep on the advantage. Me and him plan to move in the spring of 09' but I can't take the fleas anymore, I'm getting eaten alive. His mom is hard headed so him talking to her is not going to work. If I get the fleas out of our room only, will that help me? We stay in the bedroom alot so that's the only place I care about anyway, beings that it's not my house and I have no control over it. I can leave and move out but the only place I have to go right now is my father's which is a long distance away & my relationship with my boyfriend wouldn't work out. I hate to throw 6 years away just b/c of ugly creatures like fleas. What should I do? Does anyone out there have some creative & helpful advice? I've been currently vaming the bed, all sides, pouring borax over it, letting sit all day while at work, & then vaming it up when I come home. I've been doing that every Wednesdays & Saturdays for the past 2 weeks, it seems to be helping slowly. Will this work, getting them out of this room only & keeping them away? I've heard you can do boric acid on hardwood floors, will that help also? I need help, I've been in tears for the past 2 weeks not knowing what to do. PLEASE HELP ME!
