My friend confessed he is gay today. I am mortified that he is 1 of "those" should i slap some sense into him?

So a group of friends were sitting at the table and he says " i have something to confess" anyway he kept telling us that he was dating this girl and everything was going good, but then today he confesses that it wasn't a girl he was dating, it was a GUY!! I mean wtf is up with that?? I don't have anything against poofs, but it's a bit disgusting for a friend to be one of "them". It kinda made me want to throw up and then to rub salt in the wound he started telling us about what he does with his Boyfriend! Ewww makes me sick. He said he has known since he was 18 and now he is 21, but he's only come out now. I'm sure deep down he is really a straight guy, i just think he needs some encouragement (in the way of a slap) for him to snap out of this and realise women are better for him.
