Just put up a new beautiful cedar deck, how do we keep the woodpeckers away? HELP?

Get a cat. Barbed wire might help. Sorry, I couldn't resist, just joking here. You could go to a hardware store and ask for something called Tanglefoot. Its a gooey paste in a tube. We used it on our house to keep pigeons from nesting in the gutters. You have to smear it where you think the woodpeckers will go. Its very sticky and everything will stick to it, so be careful where you use it. Hope this helps.
